July 2022 Grain Trust Meeting

At our meetings, we typically discuss business then sample homebrews, that members bring to share.

You’re welcome to bring any homebrew you’d like to share or those you’d like to get feedback.
One or two 22 ounce bottles, of beer, would be enough.

Feel free to show up anytime after the taproom opens at 4:00PM.

As usual, we’ll be focusing on beers that we bring–be sure to get your descriptions to Harry Graham a day or so ahead of the meeting.
Please include Style, alcohol content and bitterness at a minimum.
Other info such as ingredients, mash and fermentation conditions, etc., are always welcome.

Hope to see you on the 15th.

June 2022 GRAIN TRUST MEETING

The next Grain Trust homebrew club meeting will be 6:00PM Friday, June 17, 2022.

In the back room of Clandestine Brewing.

This month we will be talking about updates on local competitions and NCHF (the Northern California Homebrewer’s Festival).

Given that COVID cases are at a fairly high level in Santa Clara County, we’ve arranged for the roll up door to be opened, thereby allowing fresh air into the meeting space.
The weather forecast is calling for a cool evening on Friday, so be prepared for the potential effects on the meeting space.
As well, you might want to bring a mask for times where you may be in spaces outside of the meeting room.
And, of course, if you are not feeling well, please refrain from attending.

For those planning to bring homebrew, it would be great (but not required) if you could send Howard a brief description of your beers, so we can have a reasonable tasting order.
Please include Style, alcohol content and bitterness at a minimum.
Other info such as ingredients, mash and fermentation conditions, etc., are always welcome (especially if there is a story behind the beer).

FreeWheel Battle of the Brew Clubs

The Grain Trust will be brewing at Freewheel Brewing Company, in Redwood City!

The Grain Trust has participated in every one of these since their inception in 2016, winning twice and finishing second twice.

This year, we’ll brew again, staying true to the theme of Admiral Maltings Capay Rye.
Anil has a recipe for California Common that has 20% rye and has already been tested on TGT, receiving a lot of favorable comments.
So, we’ll go with that.

If you’re interested in participating, the event starts at around 10:30AM. The official start is 11:30AM.
Just show up and join our team–as a bonus, draft beers are only $5/pint for members of all brewing teams.

If we win, they will invite us to brew the beer inside on their 6-barrel system.
